Sync Issue Digi002 ProTools LE 8.0.3
Digi002 ProTools LE 8.0.3 on Windows XP
my system is recording stuff behind the beat. when using a microphone and recording the metronome the waveform should show blips right on the beats - but... not. Any ideas? sync issue.jpg |

Re: Sync Issue Digi002 ProTools LE 8.0.3
Wasn't this a driver problem on 8.0.3 LE? Update to 8.0.5 and the last V8 driver. I was on 8.0.5 for a while and it was the best of all the versions of 8.

Re: Sync Issue Digi002 ProTools LE 8.0.3
I can't tell how far it's off from the pic
input latency would be my first guess but it looks a bit big for that

Re: Sync Issue Digi002 ProTools LE 8.0.3
Download and use the 9.0.2.65 driver for the 002. It was released the day before the 8.0.5 update was released.

Re: Sync Issue Digi002 ProTools LE 8.0.3
updated to 8.0.5
updated the driver to 9.0.2.65 still saw a delay when recording the metronome. but I think i found a solution. i set the Global MIDI Playback Offset to -1000 samples and now it seems to line up perfectly. i don't know if there will be any undesirable fallout from this adjustment but it sure made the the MIDI track and the audio recorded line up better. any further insights on this would be welcome! Re: Sync Issue Digi002 ProTools LE 8.0.3
To get the best answer, we need all the little details "Recording stuff" is way too ambiguous. "sending midi to an external sound device, and recording audio from that"...paints a much clearer picture(and setting the proper midi offset is exactly the right procedure to do)

Re: Sync Issue Digi002 ProTools LE 8.0.3
found my problem... monitor latency caused by a certain plugin i was using on the master track and subs. MAXIM compressor. it was creating a 50ms delay. replaced it with another compressor and all is well. i had to set the Global MIDI Playback Offset back to 0.
thanks for your help. Last edited by rgalpin; 06-28-2013 at 06:42 AM. Reason: found the problem... |
