Default Blown Capacitor on the PSU Control 24

Just wanted to post this info in case anyone gets this problem as I did.

Quote:
A blown capacitor on the PSU. Symptoms include:

- Clicking about ever second or so coming from the board itself
- a VERY loud audio pulse coming out of the monitor section in time with the board clicking
- mic preamp lights (red) partially lighting up in time with the board and monitor section clicking
- nothing else works

This repair involves removing the old capacitor and replacing it with a newer (higher temperature rating) capacitor.

Boards containing the higher temp-rated cap are technically "revision J".
Hope this helps someone.

Repair involves sending back the PSU and Avid fixes it.

Exact symptoms I had. Digi Service in the UK wanted over £600 to fix. We ended up doing the exchange to a new C|24.
I love the new C|24 but feel a bit ripped off now.
