If it was Track Freeze, one would be able to unfreeze the rendered track, make changes, then re-freeze. From what I can see, this isn't exactly the case with Track Commit. It's essentially bouncing the track to another whilst retaining volume/send automation etc. albeit in an automated process. You still have to re-active the track to make changes and you're left with an ever growing list of committed clips in your session.

Hopefully a true Track Freeze will appear later on down the track.

Still, a step in the right direction.
Yes - Pro Tools will have 'a true' Track Freeze will allow you to quickly freeze at various points of the inserts on a channel 'in place'. You also won't be able to edit the frozen audio on the channel - which Commit will. Track Freeze will be coming soon after Commit arrives.

Track Bounce also offers some very cool workflow options for people - so I believe that all three together will really give everyone plenty of options for how they prefer to work.

Thanks,
Tom

looks like the Dock works without the iPad, but from the demos I saw, it works better with it.

Hi,
All the 12.3 features and enhancements described are new to HD users. That being said, we are and will be working hard on new HD specific features and generally they take a longer to development and implement.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom, as an HD user I want to be persuaded to spend my money with you...what is Avid doing to justify the huge gap in price for HD users moving forward... Can you pass this feedback on to 'the team' as well?
