They manage to have vertical zoom toggle follow the selected track, surely they could manage solo status.

Follow Solo is indeed a pretty standard feature we're missing. There was another thread about it recently.

sometimes we don't think of these simple things, but
they do make a huge difference for many of us,

imagine this....

as your session plays...
Press JUST the "P" and ";" (moving up-down tracks),
and as you do,
that next or previous track is AUTOMATICALLY SOLO'd.

On a related note is this persistent annoying flaw: when soloing is in X-OR mode and you solo a track then shift-S solo a playlist, the main track is unsolo'd. :/ I consider this a flaw because clicking a playlist's solo button maintains the track's solo (even in X-OR mode).

Your suggestion would also be great for comping in playlist view.
