Question Where is the Disable Fader Movement During Playback feature for Control 24?

I posted this this thread (here it is for reference: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=287397) in the Control/C|24 forum and the only response I got was for the C|24 - not a Control | 24. After I replied no one else has chimed in - thought I would try here (this forum seems to be a lot more active and budding with information than the other).

Has it been removed? Did I just imagine that it ever existed? Is right in front of me somewhere and I'm just over looking it?
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the Control | 24?

PS-Sorry DTS Admin if I am posting for the same question/problem in two different forums-just looking for help!

Cheers!

Hi Ron,

There's no feature on the control 24 all you can do is put into master fader made!

Thanks Chris!

Your suggestions is a viable workaround! But I really thought I recalled having seen a check box somewhere in the preferences a few versions ago that would disable such?

Maybe it's the old age of being 31 setting in

workaround:

Make a bank of EMPTY midi tracks. Set them to faders at 0 (- inf). When you want to playback without any fader movement, bank your control surface to your bank of midi tracks.

Use this technique in conjunction with Massey's "Listen" plugin

Good suggestions but I wanted to add that long ago this did exist - DTS told me to use it at a client's who's G4 wouldn't let us bounce a pretty simple pop tune thing. This was 5.3.1, I believe, back in 2003-2004. 001 LE system. Not sure when it disappeared!

There was a preference in the automation preference section for disabling moving faders on the screen. However, this is no longer available. This preference never affected control surface faders.
