What is this little triangle in my edit window??

I've been using PT for at least five years and I have never seen this before:
A tiny triangle at the bottom of an audio track in the middle of the song. Almost like a marker symbol, but without the color.

A little embarrasing, as it probaly is something very basic.

it is the icon for an audio track. the midi and aux tracks have different icons.

or maybe not, i'm not sure i understand which icon you speak of when you say "in the middle of the song"..

Sounds like you placed a synch marker in the region.

I dont have my manual right now, what is a sync marker?
How did I place it there, and how do I delete it?
(It cant be selected, it seems.)

Select the clip and choose "remove sync point" form the Edit menu (or <Command>,)

Thank you guys.

I found it in the ref.guide.
Apparently I have accidentaly hit downarrow wich sets a sync point.
I hardly ever use time code sync and such, so I didn't know about it.

The down arrow doesn't set a sync point.. it marks the beginning of a selection.. Command+, toggles a synch point at the current cursor position in the region.
