I don’t play but for visiting pianists I have a Kawaii VPC1 with a choice of Ivory II American Grand, Keyscape, an old Bosendorfer PM290 library that runs under Kontakt (I know). If need be I can drag out the Gigastudio PC and hook you up with “The Old Lady” by Post or the Gigapiano, no problem at all. The old Gigastudio PC also has a Pro Tools 8 HD4 TDM rig in it and although I haven’t done it I think Ivory II will run on it, don’t quote me but I’m pretty sure Synthology supports several older OS. That’s either Win XP or my old Mac Pro running Mavericks.

Also because I'm on the hairy edge of working with UVI Falcon and my ancient OSX 10.13.6 the VI Labs stuff is a low priority (and they have a D but no B). Further I'd like to stay with one developer if possible. That leaves the stuff from Synthogy (Ivory) which are sample based and Modarrt (Pianoteq) which are modeled.

I like demos as much as possible and Ivory doesn't do that. Pianoteq does so I'm working with that. That being said what do people here like? Any problems with either? Are there other piano vi's out there I'm missing?
check soundpaint. 127 velocity levels. free 1928 steinway. paid D, C7 and more. low price.

MIDI has 128 velocity levels (0-127) but it has absolutely zero correlation to how many velocity levels has been sampled. Even single-sample VI can say full 128 velocities, but high-end instruments (such as Ivory) have more than one sample for each note. In case of Ivory it is 18 samples.

Well it is relatively new invention. AD 773 or something. And they say it is basis of mathemathics...

With that said, I would like to see keyboards with another one next to zero. Sometimes when you are doing binary it is cumbersome to type ones and zeroes on different sides of the keyboard. Would be so convenient to have 0 and 1 right next to each other. Or putting zero to the left if two ones causes too much confusion. But enough of this off-topic.

I don't see any system requirements on the site.

Maybe it is so cheap it does not require anything?
