Midi configuration yamah motif voice editor

I'm having a problem and I'm curious if it may perhaps be my 002 rack. The Yamaha Motif rack has a voice editor (windows) and I can't get my keyboard controller to trigger the Motif within the voice editor.

Although, the ports are available in the dropdown window. ie. 002 rack port 1. and port 1 and 2 for output. The Motif is connected via usb. I can't get it to work. I think I've tried everything but to no avail. I don't get it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I've often used the multi editor and occasionally the voice editor for the Motif rack without any trouble. I'll try to duplicate your problem and see if I can help but I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say your controller can't trigger the Motif "within the voice editor". Could you post more detail about how you're routing your midi connections?
