type of cable for s90es MIDI
Hi everyone I have a Yamaha S90ES and I want to hook it up to my mbox2 for MIDI, what type of cable should I get for it. Will a regular USB cable work or should I get a MIDI cable.

Re: type of cable for s90es MIDI
Should work with a straight USB -> Computer, no need to connect it to the Mbox. Most keyboards have USB connections on them these days. I haven't personally used the S90ES, but haven't had any issues using USB for MIDI on any other keyboards that offer it.

Re: type of cable for s90es MIDI
I can't speak for the S90, but the USB port of my Motif es8 doesn't work as a midi connection(only works with the Yamaha software bundle). I run standard midi cables with mine.

Did you install the Yamaha USB MIDI driver? I'm pretty sure I used an ES7 via USB a few years ago, all it took was installing that driver, no other software needed.
