Default IO assignments

This problem seems to have been brought over from PT 8. When opening an older session I get a dialog that "Some paths were made inactive because they could not be assigned to existing path definitions." Fine, I have changed some IO labeling. But here's the problem...

If I reassign the "missing" paths to "No Input", when I save and re-open the session the non-existent paths come right back.

Any ideas?

Do you have "Sessions overwrite current I/O Setup when opened" checked in I/O setup?

No. I looked at that as well.

I'm getting that, too. But it doesn't seem to hurt anything. My workaround is to set them to unused paths. That seems to stop the annoying dialog.

Yeah, that's what I did as well. But it just isn't right that it goes back and finds non-existent inputs that you change to "no input". And yes that dialog is super annoying.

Any luck with this? I'm having the same problem. It's just obnoxious.
