Default Instrument Track in Garage Band not working with Mbox 2 mini

okay, so i have to record a song tonight for my class and it has to be turned in by 12:00. I have Mac Pro OSX 10.6.2. I borrowed my friends MBOX2 mini. I have garage band. I installed the core audio driver and my MBOX seems to be working fine. I add a "Real Instrument" track. Went into Preferences/Audio, set both input and output to MBOX 2. Set the input source on the track to MBOX mono 1 input. I click record and there is no response from any instrument or microphone being played. I tryed switching the cables. I tried so many different things and it will not work. the volume meter on the track is stuck on the track is stuck in one spot where the meter turns yellow. there is no signal at all. SORRY! I AM PANICKING! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:c onfused:

Go Here:

http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...14&itemid=4962

click on download then choose one of the "Mbox2 Mini Getting started guides"

Read through the sections dealing with inputs and outputs very carefully to make sure you understand how to utilize them..

Don't worry about that.

Just read through the information about the hardware and make sure you are using it correctly.

Start with "Mbox_2_Mini_Getting_Started_v73" and read the section "Making Hardware Connections"

Hi, Im having the same issue and cannot for the life of me figure it out. I read the start up manual and am familiar with using the mbox 2 with protools on my desktop. I have a new macbook pro that runs snow leopard and I want to use the Mbox 2 with garage band. Everything sets up fine but there is no volume going in through the inputs to garage band. Any tricks or ideas?
