Ableton Live Midi Setup

I'm not seeing any midi input in live when i rewire from PT LE 6.4 using a Digi 002.

i've got Live 4.0.1 full version running, and under midi/synch i see "Digidesign Digi002 port 1" under "Active Devices: Input" in Live's Preferences menu. Am i mistaken to believe i should be seeing midi messages in rewire?
Would love to control live with my keyboard. Any suggestions would be appreciated..
