I use an Expansion/HD and can run 7.3 on both OS X and XP (Boot Camp).

HD 7.3 works with bootcamp? sounds interesting... I`ll try that - what version of XP are you using? do you have a separated HD for XP?

XP Pro SP2

I have a separate 750 gig drive with a 250 gig partition for XP as NTFS. I have the rest of the drives as HFS+ and use them for my audio.

I'm not sure if this'll work without the Expansion/HD.

Hi,

Im using a mac pro, with boot camp (which essentially is a boot loader), and two hardisks, first disk dedicated for OSX, and then I have another disk for WinXP SP2,

Im using HD3 Accel PCI-e, you can run PT7.2/7.3 without issue on both systems, everything works a treat. When running XP on a mac pro, its just like every other pc you've ever used - bootcamp is only bootloader software that allows at bios/boot level to choice with disk/operating system to boot from.

To be honest, i use mainly OSX, the system is alot better than XP for whole load of reasons, but thats not to take away the fact PT runs very well on XP on a mac pro, these machines are very quick. Also soundtoys wont/unable/incapable of releasing XP versions of there TDM/RTAS plugs - annoying.

I'm curious why someone would want to do this...are there desirable plug-ins for Windows that don't run on OS X?

With all the irritating Windows crap I've suffered through over the years (just for the sake of running Sound Forge, which I do happen to like better than any "editing" application available for OS X), I'm just a bit curious why any Pro Tools users would want to deal with it.

XP = Stability.

I use a bunch of different systems all over LA and my XP systems never crash - ever! The only reason to use OS X is for the additional memory addressable when using VI's.
