Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10
Still good here. Did the suggested methods not help?
I read there are some GUI issues on OSX as well, not aware if it’s related. |

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10
Well, I have Radeon Graphics (RX580), not Nvidea. Also, my display doesn't offer an option for resolution between 3840x2160 (too small to see anything), or 1080P (Too Huge).

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10
only resolution for me so far is reverting back to 2019.12, but I have not uninstalled/reinstalled graphics drivers (which work fine with 2019.12 and everything prior) since it honestly just seems like another time suck.

I had this issue with 2019.12 as well, maybe just less frequently?

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10
maybe a different issue? Mine freaked out every time I tried to bounce a track, but otherwise was generally ok. with 2019.12 and prior I have never experienced this issue (many other issues, but not that one...)

Same as mkosacek, only while bouncing. EDIT: I turned off the studio air conditioning, it was 27degr Celsius when I got back after the 47 minute bounce. Maybe that is relevant (?) Last edited by polycorn; 06-03-2020 at 11:10 AM. Reason: Forgot to mention |

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10
It must be a cpu overload kind of thing. I only start getting it in a very full session. Seems to happen more when I use some of the more CPU heavy Waves plugins?

not for me. cpu has light workload. even a bounce with no plugins enabled did it for me.

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5 GUI FREAK OUT on Windows 10
Damn.... Well, it's slowing me way down especially on this session that's got nearly 170 stereo tracks in it. Waiting to hear back from support, but think I'm just giving in and ordering a mac pro. My Windows experiment may have failed. Sad, because there are a lot of things I actually like about windows.

Not cpu related here either.
Could you ask support to chime in here, if they ever respond? |
