Nay.

Most plugs won't work, resource allocation (memory, HD space) too high.

I've thought about it a couple of times.... but then I chicken out and stick with 96K. None of my engineer buds in Nashville cutting at 192K either... but that's not to say it's not happening out there somewhere.
There's still a bunch cutting at 44.1K and 48K..... some even on OS9 as well.

Have done it on specific music occasions, but 96 is great for most music purposes - not to mention the lack of tracks at 192. All of post is great at 48!

the jamie palumbo classical guitar CD i produced was done at 192

i cut 3 mics on his european made spanish guitar and added some L2 or L3

we chose not to take to mastering engineer as he liked the sound in his car better than other classical guitar cds he loves

Nay,
Data management is hard enough at 96K. I couldn't imagine having to back up even more data. Besides, does it really sound better after it's been crushed down to a mp3(160). hmmmm...... I guess it does, but it most likely won't sell more CD's. A great song will be a great song at any sample rate.....

I don't even like the hit on my DSP with 96k when doing big mixes in the box. But I do think the converters sound great at 192k. If I was doing a project that was meant to be real hifi and wasn't going to use more than 16 tracks, I might try it. For me it's about the converters. Once it is in the box, I'm pretty much just as happy with 96k (or even 48k). If you're mixing on a board and ProTools is just a tape machine then 192 really makes sense.
