Why does amp volume have to cranked so high on SPDIF out on 001?
When using SPDIF out on Digi 001, I have to crank my amp (Pioneer 100 watts per channel with a digital coax in) really high to get decent volume to my montitors (JBL S38II). Is there a gain control on SPIDF out that I am missing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Why does amp volume have to cranked so high on SPDIF out on 001?
it's not in some crazy matrixed surround mode or something is it ?? (prologic on the amp)
s/pdif is s/pdif ... sounds like there's some digital attenuation going on at the amp, maybe check the manual cheers, marcus |

Re: Why does amp volume have to cranked so high on SPDIF out on 001?
All the surround modes are shut-off. Is there any advantage to going S/PDIF out rather than analog out if one has a digital interface on the amp? Maybe I should just go out the mains of the 001. Thanks Marcus.
