Default Windows 8 With Pro Tools LE8

Hi I recently bought a never opened MBox 3 with protools LE8. I am running a Windows 8 HP ENVY dv7-7255dx 17.3" (750 GB, 2.5 GHz, 6 GB). I did some research and found out that windows 8 is not compatible with Pro Tools LE8 and I can't find any drivers to download from AVID. Any help?

Windows 8 will NEVER be approved for Pro Tools LE 8.

That does not necessarily mean it won't work, but it is not, nor will it ever be approved.

You could upgrade to the latest version of Pro Tools, Pro Tools 12, which is fully approved for Windows 8. Or you could downgrade your OS.

But try it out on Win 8 first, it just might work, I've done it.

If it's not installing try Run As Admin and/or install with a Win7 or XP compatibility mode.

You can find drivers for your Mbox here:
www.avid.com/drivers

Not sure what version of LE you are trying to install, but you should be installing the 8.0.3 Full installer, and then update to 8.0.5 which is the last and final version of PT LE 8.

Right click the installer and choose Run As Admin.

For Compatibility modes, Right Click and choose Properties>Compatibility Tab

Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode" and choose a version of Windows that PT LE 8 is approved for.
