os x reinstallation -> vst problem
Hi all -
My OS X recently crashed, which caused significant performance problems on my computer, leaving me no choice but to reinstall the OS using the "archive and install" feature. Applications are up and running no problem, but now Digidesign cannot find the plugins that resided in two folders (under the appropriate Plug-Ins folder) - one was for my "homemade" VSTs, one was for "Pluggo" plugins. These plugins are there, on the system, just as they were originally, but now Pro Tools cannot read them. Incidentally, the same thing is happening with Ableton Live - it cannot read these folders. Any ideas what I can do? If I have to re-render my homemade VSTs, they will have different ID codes, which I fear will screw up my automation and set me back several days. Any ideas why the files are clearly there but these programs can no longer read them? Thanks! Drew |

Re: os x reinstallation -> vst problem
Hi all -
So, I reinstalled my Pluggo plugins and ran the Plug-In AudioScan, and now Pro Tools can recognize the all as plug-ins! Good news! The bad news is that most of these plug-ins are not appearing as effects in my AudioSuite. It used to be that all of my Pluggos would work both as inserts on the mixing rack AND as effects for rendering my files. Now, only a select few appear here. Anybody know why this would be? How can I get all my pluggos back in the AudioSuite? Thanks! Drew |

Re: os x reinstallation -> vst problem
In my experience only certain Pluggos show up in Audiosuite, not all pluggos. I'm sure Cycling74 can provide you with a list.

Re: os x reinstallation -> vst problem
Understood... but the bottom line is that, prior to my OS X reinstallation, about 75% more of my Pluggo plugins worked as AudioSuite effects. Logic says if they worked once, they would work now, no?

Re: os x reinstallation -> vst problem
Just in case your problem is still not solved;
I suspect that logic is indeed on your side and therefore I don't really have a solution. However, on my system only a minority of Pluggos have ever worked in Audiosuite (I think my first version was 3.1). I am happy to post which ones they are when I get a chance. It still might be worth checking with Cycling74. Good Luck.
