Re: 7.4 + Mbox2 = STILL FREEZING!!!!
Since I installed Leopard I didn't experience the kernel panic issue I had with 10.4.10. ProTools is working ok altough there's reasons why DIgi doesn't support it yet: First, the Xpand GUI is scrambled to say the least and the time counters are quite sluggish. Everything else seems to work. If you plan to upgrade to Leopard, I strongly suggest to make a clone of your hard drive on a FW hard drive with Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. That way, you'll be able to boot in Tiger in case something's not working.

Re: 7.4 + Mbox2 = STILL FREEZING!!!!
macbook 2.1 intel core 2 due 2.16
2gb ram ddr2 mbox2 Ok so I've just installed 7.4 with tiger 10.4.9 and it seems to be working better! I can use 10 tracks of audio with 5 plugins on each + 5 instruments before the (6101 CPU overload) error message shows it's ugly head. This is a definite improvement but I'm pretty sure my Mac is capable of much more! I'm going to backup 10.4.9 and give 10.4.10 a go before I go ahead with the upgrade to leopard, I realise that 10.4.10 hasn't been cleared with protools but I've heard a couple of people say it has helped with this particular problem. Anyone had any luck with 7.4 and leopard or heard anything back from Digidesign yet?

Re: 7.4 + Mbox2 = STILL FREEZING!!!!
hey bad ben -
just want to point out the original theme of this thread. My problem doesn't involve ANY error messages The computer freezes (spinning beachball) and requires a hard shutdown You may get more helpful info about your issue if you start a new thread with your specific problem listed in the topic/title good luck
