I'm getting spontaneous reboots during sessions and I think it's from the IRQ's, everything else seems ok... The CPU temp is about 41C when it crashes, I don't think that's hot enough to crash it...

AMD Athlon T-Bird 1000

go into your BIOS and disable everything you dont use right now , such as onboard sound, network, usb, serial ports, parralel ports, infrared ports, and in your case...the most important, the firewire (it is sharing IRQ with the digi001, and the digi001 is egoistic, it doesnt like to share)

if i look at it....i see these ports eating up irq's

irq 3 com2
irq 4 com1
irq 7 parallel printer port (lpt1)
irq 10 firewire interface
irq 10 usb2 interface
irq 13 PS/2 mouse port

I am NOT saying to disable the whole bunch, but only disable the port you dont use. This will free up some irq's. Then locate the "Update ESCD" or something like that in the BIOS to have all the plug and play stuff assigned new irq's.

If that doesnt put the digi001 on its own irq (well...it will still share with a "ACPI IRQ-holder for PCI-steering") try moving the pci-cards around in your system

I also think its possible to hard-assign a pci-slot to an irq with your mobo...

Get rid of the old soundblaster and remove the 2dfx pci graphics card and get your self a agp video card.

don't dump the soundblaster. go into bios and disable your serial ports and printer port if you're not using them. also disable your usb ports if you're not using them. if you do use usb, disable all but 1 (including usb2). same goes for 1394 if you're not using it. then get rid of acpi - this will free up some irqs.

Does the onboard firewire port eat up resources? Can you go back and forth enable and disable?

check this out:

and, yes, onboard firewire does use an irq resource...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I agree with this. Brian you da man. It might help to move the digi card around until you get it on IRQ 9 by itself. Should be slot 3 or 4 I believe. If you can get rid of the other things on IRQ 10 so digi is by itself that is just as good.

If you get a new video card, check out the ATI Radeon 7500 or 9000. Works good with this board.
