What I would like to see in ProTools in 2024 !

Here's my list (yes, I already posted it in Avid Link) in no particular order
(some things are referring only to the Windows version which I am currently using):


- 4k optimization/compatibility
- Preference option to not having the analysis automatically performed when enabling Elastic Audio
- Preference option to choose Midi Tracks default view and automation state
- Multiple Wav Formats Bounce
- File Loudness Analisys
- Internal Delete/Backup/Restore Prefs
- Plugins view in multiple pages instead of one column scrolling in AudioSuite (in Windows)
- Solve the track comments bug in Windows
- Resizable Import audio window in Windows
- Option to decide where PT inserts the track coming from a bounce
- Plugin manager
- Mastering page (with DDP creation capability)
- Extend "Undo's" to more (if not all) functions
- Multiple open sessions
- Change Playback Device without the need to restart
- Save H/W Buffer Size with the session

- Shortcut to toggle input quantize on/off
- "Duplicate and make inactive" option for all tracks
- Support to read/write Flac files
- Make Midi and Instrument tracks have the same playlist capabilities as Audio tracks

Support to read/write Flac files

Clip Folders(clips bin would have a folder for each track and clips would reside in these folders)

Make Midi and Instrument tracks have the same playlist capabilities as Audio tracks

Make Windows work like Mac where you can drag without regard to the parent window(not sure this is possible)

As for this:- Option to decide where PT inserts the track coming from a bounce; the imported track SHOULD appear right below/after the last selected(highlighted) track, so you kind'a have this already

Good ideas, in particular about the midi playlists !
I know you now have the imported track below the last selected one, but how many times do you forget to select the one you want ? Me, all the time LOL
I'd like an option that regardless puts for example on top or bottom of all the tracks of the session. But maybe it's just me !
For drag and drop I think Windows has limitations, not sure. I'd love a drag and drop gui like Studio One !

I switched my laptop to 1920x1080 but yes, I agree, that 4k compatibility would me nice.

Yes. Specially, in Apple Silicon, the ability to use performance cores AND efficiency cores.
