Default "Unable to locate digidesign hardware" Digi 002 - but with a curious twist.

Hey folks,
So I've looked this up through the forums, and it seems not to be a very uncommon problem. Especially with a digi 002 rack, such as my own. What's curious about this though is that the 002r *is* recognized by my laptop computer (macbook pro) running pro tools 8 cs3, but NOT by my desktop running the same thing - on a windows vista start up OR a mac start up.
I've checked the firewire ports, and they both work fine (with the same cable) on a hard-drive. So that's not the problem. Sighhhhhh.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Well you've proved the 002 and the cable works. If your "Desktop" is a "PC" you should start a post in the Windows section after checking out the "General Troubleshooting" threads. If your desktop is a Mac then some more info on the model would help.

Cool Re: "Unable to locate digidesign hardware" Digi 002 - but with a curious twist.

Hey, Thanks Sunburst. Sorry, that *was* a little vague. The "desktop" is a mac pro.

The problem is finally solved though, all I had to do was reset the PRam. Resetting the firewire ports didn't help with me, though I read it has with some users.
