It is the most common cause of buffer errors. It is most likely the cause of yours. Until you are running your sessions on a separate drive as recommended by Digidesign, it will be the first and only suggestion to solve your problem.

This may sound like 'platform war' post, but it's certainly not in that spirit, just relating my relevant experience. I had tried to get ProTools going on my HP zd7000 (for 2 years), and had persistant buffer size problems. Tried all the fixes including the external powered USB hub. That's great if one of those solutions works for you.

I hit a wall with my PC and needed to get a new machine, so I got the MacBook Pro with the Intel processor, 2G of RAM, and man, that thing is a dream for pro tools. I can get up to the track limit with 1-4 plugs on each track, and some of those tracks are Kontakt 2 sessions on Instrument Tracks.

Just saying, if you were thinking about a dedicated machine as a solution...take a look at the MacBook Pro. I used to scour the DUC desperate for help, and now I'm just a casual reader

just my 2 cents

I'm not sure if I am in the right spot or not but I am trying to get help with error codes that I am recieving during playback in "Pro Tools M-Powered version 7.0 with M Audio Interface"

DAE Error 9083
DAE Error 9019
DAE Error 87
DAE Error 6

DAE can't get audio from the drive(s) fast enough. Your Drive may be too slow or frogmented, or a firewire drive could be having trouble due to the extra firewire bandwidthor CPU load. (-9073)

I have done some research throught the FAQ's on DigiDesign and in Pro Tools, Through the M-Audio support, etc, etc...

So far DAE Error 9083 and DAE Error 9019 have been corrected. I don't have a firewire hard drive nor to I have an external hard drive.

StreetLife, you have a number of issues, first of which is you are posting in the wrong area. Since you're using MPowered, you should post over in the MPowered for Windows Section.

When you get ther, the first thing you are going to want to do is read through and try the suggestions in the . General Troubleshooting: WinXP/Pro Tools M-Powered post that is stuck at the top of that forum.

However, I think I can save you a little bit of time right off the bat:
Quote:
Video Card - ATI Technologies Inc. Radeon XPRESS 200 Series
That video chipset, the Radeon XPRESS 200, is incompatible with Pro Tools. That's your first major problem.

To help you further than that, you're going to need ot post specifics about your computer as directed in the General Troubleshooting post I linked you to. Just make sure to post them over there where you're likely to get more answers from people who know about MPowered.

You'll see me over there quite a bit as well, since I use both.
