Reason 4 plug-in
I'm not at my rig so I'm a little hazy on my question but here goes... I've been reading about the Reason 4 plug being great, and want to take a look. I've got MP 8.0.5 and when watching a couple videos about Reason 4, I see a pop up when the guy's opening Reason that I see on my rig from time to time.. The pop up says 'Re-Wire', and I'm wondering if this comes up because Reason came with MP 8.0.5? So, does Reason come bundled? I've looked around and haven't seen it, and I'm hoping I've just been blind and passing right over it, or is that other screen I see, the Re-Wire, a screen that comes up for many different plugs? Thanks

Re: Reason 4 plug-in
ReWire is built-into Pro tools but Reason is not. ReWire is the plug-in that makes Pro Tools 'talk' to Reason. Basically Reason is a rack of synths and drum machines and loop players, and a composition environment to make songs. Well what if you want to record Reason into Pro Tools? The ReWire plug makes this possible.

Re: Reason 4 plug-in
I use Reason 4.
1) set up instrument track and label it Reason 2) If you've got a drum track you're going to play against I'd stick that in Pro Tools unless you want to use Redrum within Reason itself. 3) There are two ways you can record using Reason via Rewire. a) do a send bus from the Reason Instrument track to an audio track b) OR (and what I'd suggest doing) -- trigger the recording from the reason transport window. This way you will record the MIDI information in Reason so you can edit it later. You can always send bus Reason tracks to audio tracks in Pro Tools for mixing later. I have a song I did that way because I needed to record a couple of regular instruments against the synth pads and stuff.
