Return to zero?
I must have inadvertently changed a setting in Pro Tools 6.1... when stopping playback before, it the start time remained the same. Now, the start time after playback is exactly where I stop it. Where is the setting to put this back? I've looked, it must be right under my dumb nose ;-)
Thanks

Re: Return to zero?
under the Edit (or Setups, not @ PT comp right now and it seems every program places Preferences in a different place) menu, select Preferences. click on the Operation tab, and deselect "Timeline Insertion Follows Playback."

Re: Return to zero?
Thanks, that fixed it. I couldn't get the "n" key to toggle this though....
Thank you!

Re: Return to zero?
Hi Stephen, how are you doing? I was just in your neck of the woods a couple of weeks ago. The "n" command is only applicable when you have Command Focus enabled in Pro Tools (a...z button on top left of Pro Tools screen). You should try Command Focus, there are a lot of single key commands available that can save a lot of time in editing. For reference Digi includes keyboard stickers with the manuals.
BTW: We're still looking for a singer for the band (Southern California). If you know anybody that would be interested you can send them to our site: 7 Months Later, |

Re: Return to zero?
Too bad that Command Focus does not provide a short cut for Bounce to Disk, that would be verrrry useful!

Re: Other key shortcuts?
I use the shareware "Ikey" (control - option - command> b) to bounce to disk. also useful to open AS plugins (control-option>p) for Pitch n Time.....
Auto typing and many other niceties. ($20) Much less expensive than quickeys..... Also the Kensington turbo/expert mouse pro allows key programming as well. Just find a heavier ball and it works great. (add tracks-fade-enter-page up/dwn left right...) OSX.2.8, PT6.1TDM |
