selling your 002 you will get prolly 1800 on ebay...(400 dollar loss...)
so you will have 1800 to buy you 002R...which is 1200 dollars,
so you have 600 dollars left...and no mixxing board(which is a great thing to have when recording YOURSELF)

I find the Mackie Hui to be the most functional. It has access to almost every feature and shortcut there is in PT.

I have a DIGI 001 and 002 system, with the 001 system I have a Motor mix controller that I paid $850 for and even though it is a great controller, it does not do have the things that the 002 controller does. By the time you invest in another controller for the 002 rack and the 002 rack itself, you will be almost at the price of the DIGI 002 system. I love my 002 system, it gives me total control over the pro tools LE software, and thats important when it comes to editing. Beside I hate doing edits with the mouse. The bottom line is if you can live without a controller and don't mind doing edits with the mouse then I say GO FOR IT, If you can find a controller for a low price and don't mind being limited to whatever that controller controls in the Pro Tools LE software, then GO FOR IT, If you want total control of your LE software and a digital stand alone mixer, then keep what you got.

You can return your 002 after 2 months? I've never heard of a place offering a return policy beyond 30 days.

Maybe you could sell it on Ebay for $1700 or so... get an 002R, pocket about $500. 002R apparently only includes the basic Digirack plugs - so somebody would lose out there. I'm not sure if registered plugins can be transferred to a new owner.

Keep the 002.
Just my opinion
