002R with DigiMax FS
Hey everyone, got a question maybe someone can answer...
Just recently got the Presonus DigiMax FS to add to my 002R, well after finally getting off my ass and setting up my studio, I tried to do a test record with the DigiMax, and all I get in protools its clicks, and and clipping signals out of the unit, the manul say to set the clock sourse to adat, but everytime I do that, ProTools then says, invaild, reverting back to Internal clock. any Ideas of what I may be doing wrong?? any help much appreciated. Cheers, Chris |

Re: 002R with DigiMax FS
just thinking off the top of my head, whats the clock on the presonus set to (internal, right?) also is the presonus sync matched to the same samplerate as your pro tools session?

Re: 002R with DigiMax FS
Ive set the FS to internal, and external, matched it to the sessions, tried setting pro tools to "RCA=SPDIF, OPTICAL=ADAT, and set clock to ADAT, still not working, just clicks and signal generated from something.

Re: 002R with DigiMax FS
Is your session's sample rate higher than 48 kHz? Do you have the Digimax connected to the 002R with 2 ADAT cables (not just one)?

Re: 002R with DigiMax FS
ok, I think I may have had a huge brain fart in the wee hours last night, all the sample rates were right, but I neglected to plug in the other optical cable out from the digi to the FS, stupid me, When I get home from work I shall do that and hope all works fine.
Ill let you know, thanks again. Chris |

Re: 002R with DigiMax FS
Glad you got that straightened out - any chance you could post your thoughts on the unit once you've tried it for a while? I'm curious as to whether or not the J.E.T. (Jitter Elimination Technology) lives up to it's name. I have to say, the PreSonus people are very nice and very helpful, and the assembly on thier units is emaculate - especially when compared to the Digi 002R.

Re: 002R with DigiMax FS
its been about 3 years of use now (sorry for the delayed reply) All I can say about the DigiMax FS is, its worth its weight in gold, I find the pre-amps are more open sounding and cleaner than the 002R (just my opinion)
I would buy more if I could use them with 1 002R(24plus channels...) |
