Default best plug-ins or tips for vocals

doin Hip-Hop here. AT 4030A mic, Digi 002(stock pres), Waves Plat. bund., RNC Comp. and Benchmark DAC-1.

just wanted to know if others are doing good or better things to make their ok soundin set up sound better.
right now I track w/ light comp. for peaks comtrol(RNC). edit. C4 into another track folloed by RenComp to level out frequencies.
EQ the new track and process if necessary.

Default Re: best plug-ins or tips for vocals

sometimes less is more

for a lead vocal, i usually put in a hardware t.c.electronics triple-c (3-band comp) followed by URS N-serie eq to sweeten the vocal sound. then i apply some focusrite d3 compression to tame the vocalist, if (s)he hasn't had a great day if the sound isn't there with these steps, there has clearly been something wrong with the recording process, or that the selected mic just hasn't been a right choise for the vocalist in question.

then, i make a vocal subgroup where i route all vocals, and put in the bf76. this is something i almost always do - with rare exceptions - because to my ears it makes the high end very nice

reverb/delay is whole another matter, and it depends on the mix on the whole. many times is use the psp84 delay (by www.pspaudioware.com) followed by hardware reverb (t.c.electronics or lexicon). but as i said, these vary greatly because each mix lives a life of its own

try lots of different plugin configs - you wont know how it goes till you try it and every voice will be different - beauty of plugs is you have time you try all the strage things that you otherwise wouldnt do - however you want to give you vocals space in the mix and you can easily use to mnay plugins

as with anything try and capture the sound well to start with so try out different mics
