anyone using isolation cabinet

i have a good pro tools setup that im happy with the problem im having is trying to record my mesa boogie without bothering neighbors. i have heard about a randall isolation cabinet anyone tried this or anything similar? thanks for any suggestions/opinions.

Try a google search as there are a few of these things on the market and one of the trade rags just had a rundown(sorry I can't remember which). You can buy them empty, or build your own. Basically, it can be done with 3 boxes. A single 12" in a small cab, placed inside a bigger box with 4" auralex type foam all around, then place that bok inside a larger box with foam or fiberglass lining. You could probably skip the 3rd box if you keep the volume fairly sane. You will likely need to add a touch of verb as tracks done this way will be very dry. I just use a POD and maybe a clean track which gets GuitarRig later.
