Can't connect to my speakers error code AAE -6134

Hey all,
I have been working for hours attempting to use ProTools Intro, but the application will not connect to my computer's speakers. Every time I open ProTools it gives me the message "The selected output device could not be initialized. Please choose another output device (AAE -6134)." I need ProTools to work on my speakers for a class that I'm taking and I'm getting really frustrated with this. Any help would be appreciated.

Some basic system specs would be helpful. The solution can be different depending on whether you're on a MAC or Windows computer.

The first thing you'll want to do if you're new to Pro Tools is check your Playback Engine in Pro Tools. Make sure it's set to the correct device that your speakers are attached to.
