ProTools white noise only with MBox 2 Pro not MBox 1?

Hi there,

Read a lot of forum posts on this, but can't find the answer...

Just bought the Mbox 2 Pro to upgrade from the Mbox Original because am also moving to Snow Leopard, but as soon as I plucked it in and opened a session on ProTools LE 8.0.1 am getting very nasty white noises. I have tried listening on the headphones instead of monitors but the noise is just as bad. Also the CPU seems to easily overload.

I have also tried different USB cables...no success.

Any tips?

Running ProTools Le 8.0.1 on MacBook Pro 10.5.8
And yes, the MBox Original works fine, so assuming it can't be any of the cables/leads.

Which port are you plugging it in to?

If you have two, left and right. Try the left if you haven't already. There has been issues with USB architecture in the past and the advice was to use the left port. YMMV depending on your model of mac of course.
