This depends on a lot of detials. Like; how large a band do you need to be able to record at one time(or are you going to work mostly with VI's, drum machines, loops and only need to record vocals? Do you already have any gear like keyboardsm drum samplers, mics? What kind of space do you have available? Is it sound-proofed or otherwise isolated from other businesses or noise sources(like traffic or a body shop next door)? Can you get by with LE or would you be needing the new HD Native? How many inputs do you need at one time(a band can often be done with 16 inputs, while recording vocals only needs 1 or 2).

Yea I jus don't see myself using more than 16-24 inputs....I already have a cple mics and cple keyboards an mpcs an the buildin is sound proofed...I also want to start using more VI though so I'm looking for a system to support tht as well.... I don't feel like I need the pro tools hd but if its affordable with a solid control surface...I wouldn't mind.....I just want the best sound possible.... but right now some suggestions for some nice Affordable equipment for a semi commercial studio!?!?..... so far I've been lookin at the presonus sl 24 an the digidesign c24.....has anyone ever used these....????
