Default A bit OT: Alesis DM5 Pro Hi Hat Pedal

Have one of these and need some help with the calibration function when using their Trigger I/O and EZ Drummer. I'm getting the 3 hi hat sounds (Open, closed, and foot chick) but the response when hitting the open hat and closing, ala that famous hi hat disco beat, the response is too slow. Can't seem to find the specific info for this, and I know some of you are drummers using this or similar gear.

Any help is appreciated!
