can\'t install program.... please help
If anybody can help me it would be great. I was on the phone with Applecare for an hour last week and everything seems ok with my iMac G5 but, I keep getting the damn -5000 message when I try to install Vintage Warmer. I'm running PT 6.7 on an Mbox. 10.3.5
I've been writing PSP and they don't have any solutions. I installed Nitro just fine. Both were downloads from the same location. I don't see why Vintage Warmer should be any different. I re-downloaded the file and the same result. No matter what I do it just keeps on giving me that same message "Error Creating Folder 1008:9, -5000" access denied error message. please help if possible |

Re: can\'t install program.... please help
"Access denied" would suggest that you don't have access priviliges for the installation destination. Make sure you are logged in as an administrator on your Mac, and that you are trying to install to a location that is writeable.
I downloaded their free PSP VintageMeter plug-in, and it gave 6 choices of where to install it, most would not have worked, but one of the choices was the correct plug-ins folder... Select :Library:Application Supportigidesign at the top of the screen, and this at the bottom: Macintosh HD Library Application Support Digidesign

Re: can\'t install program.... please help
Thanks Digidesign,
I will try your suggestion. I'm defintitely logged on as the administrator. The file was a stuffit file so when I go to unstuff it I'm asked to select where and thats when I get the problems. Once its unstuffed i can't install it. No matter where I select, I'm receiving that message. I'm pretty sure I've selected that location, but I'm gonna keep trying. PSP Nitro installed no problem. Thank you again for responding |

Re: can\'t install program.... please help
I definitely think it is the file now. It must be corrupted, because I re-installed Nitro (PSP)
just to see if I'm going thru the process correctly and it installed with ease. When I tried to install Vintage Warmer it doesn't even offer a location at the bottom of the window to select the proper filepath. It only offers "Macintosh HD" as the choice, no folder, no directory and I can't install, only getting that -5000 message. Nitro give me options to select where to install and it did successfully. I guess I'm gonna try to get my money back on it, because they're (PSP) not being helpful with my problem. |
