Can I open a Protools 8 session in Protools 12?
I am having a session made in PT8 sent to me. I run PT12.0.0
Can I open the older version in 12 and will it convert it to a PT 12 new file I can resave? I'm running my PT12 on a Mac with OS Yosemite 10.10.5 Many thanks. |

Indeed, there should be no issue opening the old session(as long as its NOT using SDII file format). Keep in mind that if you need to send it back and they need to open your work on LE, you would need to save a session copy in the older format(not an issue, just a required step) and commit any freeze or Clip Gain adjustments you might make
