Some redundancy, yes. I wanted to stress "duplicating", not "new" tracks.

Why not just save the session as, say, "song 1", and cut what you don't want, reopen the original session, rinse, repeat.

Because it will take less time to copy 18 tracks that last 4 or 5 minutes than to copy 18 tracks that last 2 hours for every song you want as a new session. There are definitely other ways to accomplish this task. And yes, using the more up to date features of PT. The way I do it has only three easy steps. Select, delete and save copy as. DONE!

Yep. Import Session Data works like a charm. You can even select only the specific tracks you need.
