Make a Window Config of the Edit Window that:
1. Shows Comments
2. Hides Comments

Mine are called "Edit Main" & "Edit Wide", triggered from 2 Memory Locations (which you can easily type a numeric keypad number to recall)

Thanks for the "heads up" on the limitations of the free version of Soundflow...

But start with the first thing of using Pro Tools keyboard shortcuts window.

Reserve Soundflow for complicated workflows (like multiple steps) not silly things like show/hide a view.

I've got, for instance, a custom keyboard command for "Show Name in Clips" so I can get that out of the way. And then my mouse has buttons assigned to "show name in clips", "show clip gain", "show clip gain line", cycle through modes, suspend/enable groups. I know all the keyboard commands by heart but I toggle these so often it comes in handy to just have them on my mouse.

I then have two StreamDecks but these are for multi-step or SoundFlow specific commands. Things like a multi track export process or hide all empty tracks and set the window configuration. Things that take multiple keyboard commands (or mouse movements.) Think of the keyboard shortcuts window as creating building blocks and then StreamDeck/SoundFlow as assembling things with those blocks.

Good and fair points...

Thanks,

Sparky

This is brilliant...

Here's the solution that seems to work for me.

Created a window configuration with the comments column open and called it "Comments"

Then in my memory locations window - I created a location called "Mix Comments" - and selected the "Comments" window configuration option and "Time Properties" set to "None"

I already had a Mix setting in the memory locations window. Had to create a window configuration with comments section closed - so just called it "Mix" and add it to original Mix memory location - and now I can alternate between the 2 quite easily...

Thanks for the inspiration Tweakhead

Be careful using it this way. I think, if you have any plug-in windows open at the time you recall this window config, it’s going to close all of those plug-in windows. Where as creating the key command for show comments will not. It will simply show the comments and keep whatever windows you currently have open.

Just tested this and my plugin on the master bus remained open...

Thanks,

The other thing is I read that I could import these settings into other session using the import session data and selecting window configurations only.

Tried it just now and this works as well! Nice...
