Mbox 2 mini does not work properly on Win7 and PT8.0.5

I own a Mbox 2 mini and I recently update my PC to Win 7 64 bit. I use Pro Tools 8.0.5 on it.
I have experienced a distorted and intermittent sound when I try to listen to some recordings or even listening to windows sounds (using the Mbox as the main windows audio device).
I discard a problem with the Mbox because it works properly on my mac with mac ox leopard.
I supposed that the problem was the mbox audio driver. However, I have installed the latest version of the driver and did not get results.
I also read in the avid support site that mbox 2 was not fully compatible with earlier versions of PT8 running on win7 but this was supposedly solved from version 8.0.4 on.
I also have checked that PT8 is installed properly because I own a digidesign 003 rack and it works fine.

Does somebody know how to solve this issue??

If no one else chimes in I'm gonna have to guess it's the drivers. Are you SURE you have the propper drivers for the Mbox2?

Problem solved!

I unistalled the drivers and reinstalled. The problem persisted. I tried other USB ports and found one that made it work.
