Listen to the album.
Do you hear more than 24 tracks?

So Thom probably has a 001 in his bedroom. Now that more music is being make with PT you have some very unusual workflow methods happening, with people trading sessions among different systems. So maybe he tracked some stuff on his own, worked with existing tracks, Fed-Ex'ing CDs, swapping drives, etc.

Tell me the logic of Nigel Godrich, with all the gear he has, with the reputation he has, mixing an album with LE? I know for a fact that he has a full-on TDM rig with Logic Audio.

Can you send us the interview. Even if it's not published yet, your friend should have a text transcription he could give you.

So let's see: the album contains:
Voice
Back ups
Acoustic Gtr
Electric Gtr
Bass
Drums
Keyboards
Samples
The Orchestra of St Johns
A trumpet
2 Altos
2 Tenors
A Baritone
A Trombonne
A Bass Trombonne
Rythm samplings

So they just recorded and edited and mixed all that on a Digi001+PTLE system and then sent that to be mastered at AbBey Road? Hmmmmmm......
