no output signal from Mbox after MIDI driver install
Power Mac G4 dual 533 MHz
MacOS 10.3.9 ProTools 6.4 512 MB RAM Mbox - USB Midisport 2x2 - USB 1 internal HD - ATA 1 external HD - firewire Issue: Installed driver for Midisport 2x2 and now I have no output signal from Mbox. It was working fine just previous to the installation of the driver. Neither the line outputs or the headphone output has a signal while session is playing. Everything else seems to be functioning as normal, there are levels above the main fader. Troubleshooting I've already tried: Double checked my hardware (amp, speakers, cables, etc) Uninstalled Midisport driver Looked over possible compatability, general setup and Energy Saver issues (I don't have Airport or Bluetooth) I installed the latest Pace driver I deleted preferences I repaired permissions I deleated Digidesign Database folders I clean uninstalled then reinstalled ProTools I created a new user account I checked for virus protection software I tried unhooking the Midisport I don’t think the mac has hardware issues I removed the LoginItems I removed the StartupItems I don’t think I have Spotlight (didnt show up in Terminal) I'm sure all my plugins are compatible CHUD Tools wouldn’t run on my OS version I’d like to be able to use the midisport for my midi I/O, but at this point i just want to be able to hear my sessions again. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer. Shabbadoo |

Re: no output signal from Mbox after MIDI driver install
nevermind, I fixed it...
I tried different keywords and searched the answer base again and found something similar (related to Reason) that said to unplug and then replug the Mbox. so I gave it a try, and hey, it worked! so if anyone else ever has a similar audio output problem apparently that's a fix. such a simple fix, I can't beleive I spent all day un and reinstalling trying to follow every step of the troubleshooting post religiously. maybe that should be added? maybe to others here that's a common thing, but it's the first time it ever happened to me. |
