Default Re: Good Mic Stands ?

Most mid price stands these days are quite good.Things to watch out for are:
-things that rattle
-stands with joints made of plastic(these always break when you tighten)
-stands with a narrow footprint(gets knocked over)
THE BIG DONTS:
-buy a stand that will support your MIC.Dont try to hang a c12 off a little quickloc or something..this doesnt even look good.
REMEMBER:
a mic stand is not a lifetime investment, its a consumer item:use it up and throw it away .
Or try to sell it to some smuck who doesnt know what a mic stand should look like.Dont be the smuck...never buy a secondhand micstand.
Lastly consider what you will use it for:If for vocals and you have room, get a good big studio stand that will last you years...otherwise get the little Proel or Quickloc and buy them by the crateload.
