Default Select Automation Modes Using Artist Control Touchscreen

My Avid Artist Control will not select automation modes when I use the the default shortcuts on the touchscreen or any of the default shortcuts assigned to the 12 Softkey below the touchscreen.

What does work is pressing the Shift Softkey and the AUTO/REC N Button next to the fader of track of my choice.

This issue is present in PT 10 & PT 12 & would be a huge time saver if I could use the touchscreen or Softkeys.

Does any one else have this problem?
Does any one have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thank your for your time

I don't know about the artist control, but i use the softkeys on the artist transport to do that.
It works like that: You press the softkey with your desired automation mode. While holding it down, press the channel select button on your desired channels.
If you wanna change all channels to the same mode, hold down alt on your keyboard and press your automation mode softkey.
I guess it's the same on your unit.

By Softkey are you referring to the one lonely button in each corner of the surface?

It works that way, but I have an Artist Control and the touchscreen buttons for automation are non responsive.

The automation mode select buttons are the ones that don’t work(write,touch,latch,touch/latch,trim,read,& off). The rest do

By softkey he means one of the Automation mode Softkeys on the screen. Press and hold and then tap a tracks sel button. The other way, is to use Do to All and Do to Selected with those.
