Arrow Audio Losing Quality Every Session

Hello.
I have been running Pro Tools 8 with my Mbox on my new MacBook Pro since October of 2012, and the audio loses its quality every single time I have used Pro Tools. It usually takes anywhere from 5 - 10 minutes for the sound quality it start degrading, and about 5 minutes from the initial distortion until complete distortion to the point of no audio whatsoever.

Here are my laptop specs:

Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB
Software OS X 10.8.2 (12C3006)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does this happen if you use your Mbox with another application, or only with Pro Tools?

Yes - just with Pro Tools, as it is the only DAW I run.

We are trying to establish where this issue is born. At the interface or at the computer/software.

Are you recording to the system drive? What plugins are you running?

Yeah - that's my follow-up question...tell us about the external hard drive which you should be using to save and store ALL your audio files.

I'm no expert, but my first thought is that your hard drive may have corrupt disks if you say the sound continues to deteriorate.
