Preroll

I have a problem when I record in protools. When I need to fix a passage I make a selction and then make a preroll on 2 bars but when I record it starts imidiately to record without the preroll, does anyone know why there is no preroll even though I have arme the preroll bottom

Assumed you both clicked the Preroll time *and* set a length of time for Preroll.

Wish if you had it on auto playlist and loop it did the Preroll every take not just first time.

I know this may sound silly, but... I went through this for a week with a client until we found out why pre-roll wasn't working for them.

When you enter in the pre-roll time are you hitting <enter>?
The client was tabbing away from the field, therefore the pre-roll amount never registered with PT...

Just alt+click (opt+click I believe on Apple) to mark ur Pre & post roll spots; that way they're on for sure @ the spot u want...

This is why I love this forum! I was doing the same thing, entering the value without hitting enter. Sheesh! See, I neglected to read page 458 in the manual carefully.

Also notice that if dynamic transport is selected, pre-roll will not be active.
