Default Drive Partition

After reading numerous threads I would like to know if anybody has partitioned their drive on a new mac so that one runs 10.6.2 and the other runs PT8 on Leopard. I was considering doing this to my new MBP that only came with SL. If I install 10.5.8 on the other partition would that be a problem running PT8? I had read that people had done this with Tiger and Leopard when Leopard first came out.
Thanks

Several folks have done exactly that. It work great. It is probably the best solution until a version of Protools is released that works with SL.

My solution too. Should work just fine. I've been doing this many a time, and I've been a 'tooler since PT5. Also very nice way to set up a a system just for PT and audio work. For stability and customisation. Go for it.
