Hello everyone! So I want to go to Pro Tools 9. Im new to the whole Ilok thing and all of that. But I found an Ebay auction today and here it is http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro-Tools-9-...item2568b55395

I have a PC so will I be able to get this, install it, plug in the ilok that comes with it and be off to the races?? Thanks a lot!

You are leaving out one important step here. Your PT7 setup is likely on XP or Vista, while PT9 needs Windows 7. Since this will entail a major update to your system, you should do a few things here. First is to determine if your computer will play nice with Windows 7(if it worked well with PT7 before, the odds are good). Next, I would remove your old system drive with whatever OS and old version of PT that was working, and put it on a shelf(saving it in case you need to revert to the old setup for any reason). Then install a blank system drive, install Win7, Pace driver and client software and Quicktime, tweak it, install PT9 and test. Once that all works solid, I would save a drive image(Acronis True Image, Casper, Ghost, ect.) so you have a basic setup that is tested and backed up. Then install the rest of your software and plugins. Once all of that is working and tested solid, I would save another image.
