Angry Extended Window Problem PT 10.3

How do I get an extended window with 2 screens in Pro Tools 10.3?

I have it set to extended display and can't drag the mixer window on the second screen. I thought the upgrade from 10.2 fixed this? is there a shortcut or something? I'm not gonna reinstall just because of this one issue.

Have you done this before, or are you new to the game? Here's what USUALLY works: do not maximize the main PT window. Drag the edges of the main window out to fill both of your screens. Now drag the MIX and EDIT windows to the screen where you want them and drag their edges to fill each screen. Now close by hitting Alt-F4. It SHOULD open that way from now on.

Or are you trying to stretch the mix window across both screens? I think you could just move the window so that it's half on each screen, then drag the corners out on each monitor.

Look back a bit,,, we are all waiting for this issue to be fixed by Avid.
It doesn't happen on MAC, but windows 7 does not allow the mix or edit window be any larger than 1 monitor. There is no stretch across screens.
In the meantime I did buy a nifty program called skootch. (Users recommended it)

It works perfectly here in 10.3. You can even move the mix and edit windows to each monitor and maximize them to that monitor. You just can't maximize the backdrop window which will limit it to one monitor.

I think this was solved on 10.3.

However, it's not exactly like "there's no stretch across screens". The actual thing is that it's been working for some graphic cards and not for others. I have an XFX ATI Radeon 5750 HD with 3 monitors (24'' 1920 x 1200 each) and I've been able to maximize everything across the 3 monitors since PT8 (and all versions of PT9 and PT10 to date). I was able to do it for 2 monitors with an nVidia GeForce GT220 too.

ok,
this will be my last question about this.

Now look closely at this:

Can you take the MIX window and have it open all the way across 3 monitors on the BOTTOM half of the screen?
and the MIX window all the way across the TOP half of the 3 monitors?

Now on my computer (the same system both times) in Version 9 , I could do this all day.
UPgraded to version 10 no good. Limited to 1 monitor.

In the Guitar center system,,, on a MAC yes this can be done.

But on a PC, anyone?

Smile Re: Extended Window Problem PT 10.3

The update worked!!!

The check for updates from inside PT 10 didn't find anything, but at the avis site, PT 10.3 downloaded and installed, and the screens are fixed.

Thanks Avid!
