Arming midi track!! everything plays out of time!!

Hi,

I am trying to do some midi over-dubs! but as soon as i put a midi instrument track in to record mode the track/instrument that is armed plays out of time! making it inpossible to play along with the track!!!

If i remove ADC then all the audio is out of time with the midi! as i would expect!!!

HW buffer size adjustment is making little difference

Trying to do drums, bass and piano with fxpansions BFD, trilogy and sampletank and i have had to send everybody home till i can sort this problem!!!!

Mac G5 2ghz 2gig ram OS 10.3.7

Hi,

Is this a limitation of Pro tools midi? Surely i should be able to place a midi track into record mode without that track playing out of time!! how does one do midi ovee-dubs then, if the parts that have been sequenced play out of time when that track is armed to record!!!

If i disable delay compensation, then the midi plays in time, but then all the recorded audio is out of sync!!!

Isn't this how it should work!! anything previously recorded into pro tools should remain in time and in sync with everything else that is playing!! and anything new being played as an over-dub should play in real time to enable the musician to play in sync with the recorded data!!!
