New "Mac Studio" from Apple

Hey all, just installed one of our Mac Studio Ultras with 64Gb RAM, which is replacing a Hackintosh in our smaller mix room.
It's running Monterey so I'm blocked from using Exponential Audios Symphony3D and Stratus3D (my go-to reverbs), and I'm hoping EA and Izotope will get a fix out for this soon.

Loaded a 7.1 feature film that I mixed on one of our 7.1 12 core Mac pros, and it runs super smooth, at 512 samples, with 450 tracks (up to 7.1 width). I'm hitting 33% on the PT meter, which it probably was at on the MP (I can't check right now).

EA issues were related to a security roadblock but that was fixed in PT 2022.4. All of my EA plugins now open as expected.

Eric, anything special you had to do? I'm running 2022.5 and those 2 plugins fail to show up.

Steven, I think Izotope just posted new builds. No functional difference--just some improved signing that should take care of you.

No, the EA stuff just worked starting with 2022.4. I couldn't get SSL plugins to open, and that required a Terminal command to (temporarily) bypass security long enough to get them open the first time, but that wasn't the case for EA/Izotope.

Try the new versions Michael mentioned and if that doesn't work let the forum know.

Hi Michael, thanks for the heads up. However I downloaded the plugins on Thursday to be sure I had up to date versions. Maybe they got posted since. I'll check next week.

If you’re not a subscriber you have to download manually from the link below. They don’t show up in the izotope app.

Sadly they seem to make zero difference in performance within pro tools. I have a 96k session with ALL tracks frozen. Just equilibrium and ozone 9 on the master. I get constant playback errors. It’s infuriating!! I’ve been doing a couple of projects in other daws (Ableton and logic). It’s insane how much more cpu efficient they are. Logic actually makes the ultra feel like a great machine! Even running in Rosetta. The issue is pro tools, or maybe just aax?

Well I downloaded everything 2 days ago from my my Izotope account. I'll have another look on Tuesday.

FWIW, I would log in to my account with a web browser and download the latest versions via My Account (or whatever they call it). The Izotope app didn't handle it for me.

If that doesn't work, perhaps those two plugs are just not yet ready for Monterey.

Pretty much what I did as the Exponential Audio products can't be accessed through the Izotope portal app.
