Satellite Link timing oddities.

In a multiple HDX or HDN setup, I have found some odd/annoying Satellite Link oddities.

For example: In a two playback + one recorder setup if all rigs have Sync HD's everything performs as expected with near sample accurate sync.

With the same setup if you disable/power off all Sync HD's, the setup performs identically with the same near sample accurate sync.

If you use a single Sync HD, the setup works as expected if you initiate playback from the system with the Sync HD.
If you initiate playblack from one of the other Non-Sync HD systems it will have an offset of +/- half a frame from the system with the Sync HD, but he other non-Sync HD systems remain near sample locked with each other.

My guess is that Satellite Link will change it's timing source to the Sync HD when it's attached, but if everything is locked to a common clock (Sync HD's and interfaces) why is there a timing difference?

I've experimented with every clocking scenario you could think of without any change. It always comes back to the Sync HD being active or not regardless of clock source.

I'd love to see a clock/timing reference option under the Satellite Link prefs/setup.

So the question is if Satellite Link works just as well without Sync HD's (this wasn't the case in the past, it used to need/perform best with video ref present) What is causing Satellite Link's timing to change when a Sync HD is attached?
